Actuators
2010 F150 Lariat with dual climate control. Recently while in AC mode 60 degrees, the driver side blows around 70 degrees while passenger side is ice cold. When switching to heat, the driver side is continuous 70 degrees while passenger side blows very hot.
I have owned the truck for 7 years and replaced the actuator above the accelerator twice and the actuate behind the radio once. All three times the AC presented obvious failures such as clicking and no airflow.
Which actuator controls the direction between the dual climates and would it likely be the culprit in this case?
Side note: When I remove the climate control fuse and let the actuators “reset” everything works fine for a short while.
I used Dorman actuators twice and Ford actuator once but can’t recall which scenario.

Just to wrap this up with an update, I pulled the fuse a second time, let the actuators recalibrate by turning the key, and haven’t had any trouble in over a week. I saw a video that explained how the terminals get dirty and weak. If you’re having similar issues out of newer actuators I would suggest a recalibration once or twice before going to the trouble of replacing the actuators.
I have a similar problem on a 2011 Lariat. Only the driver side is blowing colder air constantly and the passenger side has the heat. Winter is coming... I'll try disconnecting the battery and hope everything will reset. A link to the above mentioned video would be good to have as well.
Thanks.
Thanks.
