Default Acceleration continues on its own...

Noticed this behavior lately and wondering if anyone else has. Is this just characteristic of a turbo?

Coming out of town speed limit changes from 40 to 65 on a slight uphill. Decided to have some fun and stand on it to see how quickly I could get up to 65. When speedo hit 65 I got off the gas, but speed kept climbing. It went past 70, up to 72 (took about 2 seconds) before I hit the brakes to bring it back down to the speed limit.

I tried watching for the effect and noticed it in other instances, when the turbos are wound up power holds or continues to increase for a brief period after the application of gas ends.

Is this normal? Not speedo lag, could feel the truck keep going.

I presume this is to prevent the turbos from barking?

It should stop accelerating when you want it to. The turbos have bypasses on them so they don't pulse or over pressure. Throttle control is fly by wire. And 2 seconds is too much lag in response time. I would have it checked out at the dealer.
