Default Acc setting on ignition

Anyone know how to keep the stereo playing in a 2013 with MFT? It has made going to the drive in movie almost impossible. Only way it will stay on is if I run the engine. Dealer gives me the deer in the headlight look.

Don't need it running. When u shut off the truck just click the key up one notch to ON. Mine does it and it is a 13 MFT

I do that but will only stay on about 20 minutes or so. I think it has to do with the safety feature that shuts everything off in the case you accidentally left the key on. I just want a way around it so I can listen to the head unit without the engine on.

Same issue I had this summer while going to the drive-in. Made what was otherwise a nice night at the drive-in a bit of a hassle. Was the first time I encountered the "battery saver mode" and definitely caused some angst.

I looked into it at the time and did not find a solution so gave up. Next summer my plan is to bring two sets of keys, one in the ignition, and the other to remote start/stop while setup in the bed. It's the only work-around I can think of and if you don't have remote start it's not even an option.

On my 2010, if you want it on longer then 10 minutes, you have to cycle the key every 10 minutes or so.

ignition switch is off, acc, run, start! But just like you said,,, it may shut off in 20 minutes due to the battery current sensor. I am not sure if you can remove it or not, maybe do a search. I installed an aux battery and a battery isolator and ran my audio through that so I could tailgate and detail the truck while listening to music. I have all my bed lights and the stereo on that setup and once I start the truck it switches the relay to charge the aux battery. You don't need a really big battery for this! Mine is one out of a battery jumper *booster*. It is the size of a small tractor battery and runs my stereo at least 4 hours at pretty high volume which is also running a 5 channel amp. I have it installed here right next to the sub! Not a good shot but if you are interested I could take some better ones.

No, it is not possible. As mentioned above, you have to cycle the key every 10 minutes or so.

I know this isn't really a solution but what I did at the drive in was got a portable de-Walt battery powered radio and just set it on the tailgate worked great
