Here is the "what for" from Reische Performance.

I have seen basically the same results since I put one in a couple weeks ago. Maybe only a slight loss in city mpgs. But, that could also be due to me mashing the skinny pedal a little harder with extra power I'm seeing. I, mainly, did my t-stat swap to gain a little more for towing. I had been noticing some differences in performance between tanks of fuel on my camping trips. I figured there may be some loss due to higher temps while under load and the possibility of the knock sensor detecting "pinging" and reducing the timing. The cooler engine/ intake temps allow for "denser" oxygen and allows for more fuel/timing to be added.
