Default 5% oil life

This come up on my truck. I have 12,000 miles on the truck. I had the dealer change the oil at 10,000 miles. Did they not reset something?

Sure seems like it. It's not hard to reset it yourself, or upon your return to the dealer.

10,000 miles on your first oil change? Wow!

When it was changed at 5,000 miles, they did reset the oil change monitor to its standard value of 7,500. For future use though, note that the interval can be changed and set in 10% increments (see manual).

That would mean your next change was due at 12,500.

You are now at 12,000 which is about 95% (12,500 x .95 = 11,875).

All this is rounded off, but I think it is the answer.

Thanks
