Default 5.4 Headers

I have a 2010 5.4 with CAI and a banks SIDO exhaust and im looking at some headers. guy at the exhaust shop said if they're behind headers they won't be much louder. how much louder would short tubes make my truck?

I believe short tubes bolt right up and long tubes require replacement of your cats and such. headers give you lots of torque from what I've found.

Headers on a stock motor in my opinion is a waist of time and money. I put headers on my old 02 f150 with full 3in exhaust with x pipe. And it didn't do a damn thing. Factory headers are just fine. The newer the truck the better the headers are.

I saw the Gibson headers don't have EGR valves. I guess I would get some kind of error if I didn't plug in the EGR.

Well, as long as the primaries and collector of headers, mid pipe, mufflers, and tailpipes are of the size for engine. If you go too big then you loose torque. Too small and you loose hp. A lot of people go too big and end up with a dog down low because they lost all the torque building back pressure.

Just got off the phone with Gibson. They said the EGR fittings aren't a problem for 04-10 trucks. They also said it won't be louder, but you'll be able to hear the air being pushed out.
