5.0s suck!

5.0s suck!
Figured that title would get some attention, haha.
Yesterday, went to fill my truck up and my (small) town had somehow ran out of premium fuel. I filled up with 87 and pulled over and removed my MPT 93 Performance tune. Man, what a turd! The gas pedal is very unresponsive, the transmission seems slow and dumb, and the engine revs so slowly, making basically no power under 3-3500rpm. And as if to rub salt in the wound, my mpg this tank is only 13.1 so far, about 2mpg less than normal. Ugh.
Now, this isn't a really a knock against the 5.0. More of just a shout out for the MPT guys. Their tune is absolutely great. I'm now waiting on their 87 octane tune to be emailed to me and it can't get here quick enough.
So, for anyone driving a stock tuned 5.0, you're cheating yourself. Check out MPT. You may be happy with it now, but it's only because you don't know what's it's capable of!

agreed, stock 5.0 may look good on a dyno but that power is useless with the factory shift strategy. 89 MPT tune and loving it!

Mine has plenty of get up and go, even with 8k behind it. The 5.0l is far superior in the power department to the motor it replaced and does its job very well.

The title was just to draw attention, nothing more.

My 98 5.4L had half the power (when new), so I'm very happy with my 5.0L.

Pfft! I drive a 5.0 that's older than you are!
(Ok...Running 15BTDC base time/ ignition system upgrade/ 170 T-stat/ Side gap copper core plugs, so not "exactly" stock either)
