5.0 Owner drives 2013 EB- Not impressed
#11
I gotta agree. I drove two ecoboost at two different dealerships and wasn't impressed. The 5.0 immediately caught my attention with the sound of the exhaust. It felt more peppy and drove much smoother. I asked both service managers about the law suit involving ford and the problem with the ecoboost engines and both of them couldn't Gaurantee me I wouldn't encounter the same problem. Both service managers told me if I wanted something tested and proven to stay with the V8.

Lol these are funny, if you like the truck/engine you bought which which I'm sure you do because you bought the damn thing who cares? Don't see why grown men get all butt hurt if someone else likes something different. Anyways like em both. Like the feel of the EB over 5.0, like the sound of 5.0 over EB. In each case it works like it should as a truck.

I too drove back to back f150's. I've always been a v8 guy and always will be. After coming off a high hp diesel both trucks honestly felt like slugs to me. The EB did seem to have a pretty good pull throughout the rev range of the truck. One of my complaints with the 5.0 is the dead spot feeling on the 2-3 shift. Just lags bad even with a tune where as the EB seemed to have a better balance through all the gears. Regardless, I could never have a truck with a v6 in it, turbo or not.

Oh god no... This was not meant to turn into an eco vs 5.0 arguement... It was directed in a satirical manner to this; https://www.f150forum.com/f38/eb-own...ressed-241616/
