Default 5.0 Muffler Delete Thoughts?

Hi All,
I've been looking at Exhaust Systems and I've seen just about every You Tube video clip on different sounding 5.0's with Exhaust systems. I understand I won't be picking up any HP, just a better sounding V8. Here's where my question comes in, If you've tried removing the muffler, replacing it with a straight pipe and leaving the factory resonator in place. What are your thoughts.
The Video Clips sound pretty good at idle and fairly loud during acceleration, but how is drone in side the cab. Is it driving anyone insane?
From the looks of some of the aftermarket systems, they seem to almost have the same set-up with a small muffler/resonator and a single exit behind the rear wheel.
So let's hear it, have I lost my mind, thinking of taking the muffler out instead of replacing the system?

Get the QTP electric cutout so you can change it from silent to loud whenever IMO

Heres a video from when i had them on my 5.0 mustang. It might sound abit different on a f150 but I think you only need 1 cutout on a f150 since its not a true dual.

That's an interesting idea Andy13186, I hadn't thought about running a cut-out. did you run any tail-pipe after the cutouts?

Interesting about the cutoff, I just did some reading and watching of some F150's with cutouts. Not sure how I never thought about this. I am similarly interested in what 804son said about running tail pipes after the cutout (redirect heat and exhaust away from under the cab)

Exactly what I was thinking, not running them all the way to the outside or anything. Maybe just to the back pointed toward the side, but I was also worried without any type of tailpipe, it would be really raspy. Although Any13186's Mustang sounded great.

Here's a picture of what I was thinking, looks similar to what would happen if you removed the muffler and kept the factory resonator.

I have mine deleted. I love the sound. Not clappy like when you delete the muffler off the 5.4. Do it, you wont regret it.

How's it inside the cab, when you're cruising down the highway?
