Default Is the 5.0 a junk engine?

I am truly a all ford man...I traded my 08 f150 3valve for a 2011 5.0...I love the truck alot and the 5.0 is a real beast...I bought the truck knowing it had a noise that the dealership said was normal...the truck has 48,000 miles...I been doing alot of research and there are alot of complaints about these engines especially in Mustangs...so I am attaching the sound that my 5.0 has...cold or hot its the same...its not a ticking noise...

Junk engine...? Um... no. I had a 5.0 in my 2011 Mustang GT and it was awesome! While i didn't opt for it in my F-150, I wouldn't hesitate to drive one. Great engine, one of the best Ford has produced in a long time.

As a side note, I've been following threads about guys who build replica Cobras with crate engines. The 5.0 Coyote is all the rage with those guys... the new engine of choice.

Seems U need to get the Dealer to fix that noise soon. Take it to a different dealer and get their opinion. They might want to work on it, instead of putting U off. One thing about the motor similar to previous ones is the timing chain layout.
Let us know how it turns out.

I've heard a few stories about ticking 5.0's. They seem to be getting more common with age and miles. Most guys get new engines if the dealer complies.

However, if you had an 08 5.4 I can't imagine you should be a stranger to ticking. I had an 05 5.4 that sounded terrible. Never any real problems with that truck that would make it unreliable, but Ford's 11+ engines are lightyears ahead of that modular crap.

I wanted the 5.0 becouse when I like a vehicle I keep it forever...I still have my 92 mark 7 and my 93 mark 8...my 5.4 was a turd for performance and hard on gas...the 5.0 was my choice because it was the power plant of the Mustang so your engine components would interchangeable...I took it to the dealer they scratching there head...
