My 2014 started the knock at 2000 miles right after I bought it after 4 trips to dealer at about 5000 miles they had it for a month to replace the driver side head and cams and list of little parts , now at 11,000 miles oil is leaking out of the vct sensors all over the wiring and valve cover or whatever they are called now the two sensors at the front top of the valve covers on the heads

Does the truck still knock or is that gone?

Most 5.0s ticking noise I hear is injectors operating normally.
I had a neighbor ask me about his 2014 f150 tick.
I started up my 2 5.0 engines i had st the time, and my 3 employees, and said all have the same tick. Its the injectors....climb in sit down and turn stereo up and just drive it...2 years later it still runs perfectly.
Just drive it and stop worrying about the noises.
If it is low mileage and new and does blow up then no trying to convince your dealer it has a noise....it will come to them behind a free tow truck paid for by ford for that new warranty engine unless you failed to maintain it or did some mods to void the warranty.
But stop being paranoid and just enjoy the power....let her rev and rip on it.

The truck sounds good again does not knock at all as before its was getting real loud before they fixed it but now smell the oil burn as it drips down to the header, I have been disapointed in the hole deal and the way ford has handled it maid me decided not to get a new 2016 mustang

My buddies 2015 Silverado 1500, has had 11 recalls in a year and a half.
The way he's being treated is ridiculous. It's as if they're inconvenienced, not him.
I bought 2 new Chevy's in 95 and 2000. Their service is what literally drove me back to Ford.
Actually I'm glad they sucked, or I'd be in a butt ugly Chevy.
Hope things get resolved. This is why we spend good money to avoid all this ****....

Believe man, that blows and I know your frustration, but the grass definitely isn't greener on the other side.

Yes I know all manufactors are having issues even my honda crv has some recalls but honda sent me a letter extending powertrain to 120,000 miles for ring and head issue burning oil even thoe mine does not burn a drop and I have never asked or brought in for that issue , also now a part of the huge airbag recall and was given a rental car free of charge until parts come in, witch could be several months I was told when I came in for service! I have also herd that ford, chevy, dodge are apart of the same recall and not offering the rental , the service that honda has gave me has earned my buisness and I will continue to purchase there products , fords service was bad , to the point were I dont want to buy another veichle from them even thoe I have had 8 mustangs 3 f150's a probe and other random fords here and there , I do love my truck but am now afraid to do anything from a cat back to lift kit or even change the wheels as those are all warranty voiding items listed in there warranty

Well, looks like it's my turn in the barrel. I bought my 2012 5.0 about a year and a half ago from a dodge dealer (won't make that mistake again) with around 33000 miles on the clock. After putting about 3-4000 miles on it I began hearing the quite noticeable, sickening knock from the bottom end. Called the dealer about it and they basically told me "that sucks. Call ford". So I drove it for the rest of last year trying to convince myself it was getting better, even though it definitely wasn't. So at 45000 miles back in February I figured I better get it looked at by a ford dealer down the road. After 2 hours and a $105 "diagnostic fee" I found out my oil level was good, my tire pressure was right on, and the knock was perfectly normal. Fast forward to about a week and a half ago, I took it to the ford dealer where we bought the wife's Edge. And by some miricle, their tech heard a definite knock that the other dealership couldn't seem to hear. So I drove of in the loaner car they supplied me and they got on the horn to ford, who instructed them to tear into it. Upon tear down, ford told them to order a long block. So hopefully this saga is over, and this is not the beginning of a new chapter! I understand dealerships probably get hosed on warrenty work so I certainly appreciate these guys taking care of me even though I didn't buy this truck there. Maybe the Edge purchase helped my cause, but they have definitely earned my buisness in the future.BTW, the dealership is Germain Ford in Beavercreek, Ohio. Excellent service (including the edge purchase) and good people. The service department has been great and helpful for both me and the wife.
