Lol, Must be a miracle that my vehicles all still run being that I have been "starving" them for so long!

No, I can't advise putting slurpee in your engine.

In my 09 5.4 i run whats recommended. But i ran 15w40 in my 97 4.2. Not sure about the coyote but when i had my 4.6 2v mustang the guys on the forums said the mod motors had smaller oil passages.

I had an interesting problem a few months ago. About 3 months after my last oil change I notice a pretty large oil puddle under my truck. I got it in to the deal asap and the issue was a failed oil filter. No damage was done but the service manager stated to me that since the filter was non-oem that any damage caused to the engine as a result would not be covered under warranty which makes sense. He stated I could have my truck serviced anywhere but make sure I have the service dept use only oem parts including filters and fluids.

I performed an experiment last summer and ran 30 weight instead of the 20.

I noticed that under light acceleration, the engine seemed to lag slightly and chalked it up to the heavier oil not activating the cam adjustments as quickly as the 20 weight. I did not notice a difference in power at full throttle.

Those were subjective. Objectively, around town I went from around 15mpg down to 11 or 12. I did not notice a difference in highway mpg, I ran the same 280 mile trip once with each grade at the same speed and the readout was within .3 mpg. One note on that trip is that with the 20weight did have higher wind velocities blowing, so that could have cut mpg, which would make the 5w20 and CAFE's intention match up.

Overall I prefer the driveability improvement with the 20 weight. IMO the 30 probably won't hurt anything.

Albeit this info is NOT for the 5.0L. The 4.6L 3V was designed by engineers to be run on 5w30. Corporate made the change to 5w20 to increase mpg averages.

That's a good question. I prefer the cherry lemonade myself. Everytime I go I tell myself I'm not gonna get a brain freeze, and what happens? I get a brain freeze.
