Please refrain from laughing. Having had an ecoboost and diesels my new 5.0 has a very nice growl. It is nearly silent at idle and I walked away from the truck today with it still running. On acceleration it has a nice growl. Is it real sound or the fake sound that I have heard they pumping in to the trucks and cars now. I love the sound just need to know if it is real. Sounds real. Thanks. Dumb question I know.

I think the fake "canned" sound is experienced from inside the cab, not from outside.

 

V8 real, not prius fake.

 

No pumped in sound. The growl you hear is pure muscle. Enjoy it! It's a beautiful sound.

 

I thought the pumped in growl was only on the new 15' ecoboost mustangs?

You can magnify that growl with an aftermarket intake system also

 

I am pretty sure that it is real. I am amazed at how quiet, almost silent my 5.0l is at idle. Then when I get on the throttle it has such a nice growl to it,really I personally feel that Ford did a good job .
