Default 4wd lowering kit ?

Ok so I have a 2011 FX2 that has been awesome. My dad fell in love with it and just bought a '13 FX4. Well he has decided that it needs to be lowered a few inches in order to fit in his parking deck at work. He lives in rural Indiana, so 4wd out of necessity not off road playing. I'm thinking that some rear lowering shackles might do the trick. Something like Ground Force or Rough Country. However, I think that might barely give him something like 1.5" of lowering. Anyone with experience on a 4wd super crew? I think we might need to do a full front and rear kit. Anyone have some real world experience or suggestions. I need to make an order tonight or first thing in the morning. I'm still searching through threads and the interweb in the meantime.

Please, someone's advice on their own experience would be helpful. My dad is driving down this week so we want to tackle it while he is visiting before he actually has to drive it to work.

Just lowering the back won't make much difference, and lowering the truck will certainly reduce it's offroad capabilities, giving you both less ground clearance and less wheel travel. You may even need to downsize the tires, making it difficult to find AT tires.

A 2/4 is a great option for this. Lowers it, but doesn't put it on the ground. A two inch drop in the rear only, like mentioned above, won't do much. You'd be lucky to lose an inch on just dropping the rear by two.

For the rear, remove the blocks between the leaf springs and axle.

Thanks guys. He's taking a tape measure with him in the morning to check the height of the parking deck so we know what we're working with. Then we'll decide.

Can you raise the parking deck?
