Perhaps if you titled your thread with the information you are asking for you'd get more hits......suggested:

How much HP can the stock F-150 6 speed transmission handle before it needs an upgrade?

The after market monster trans heavy duty version is rated at 450 hp 400 tq if that gives you an idea

You hear story's about people throwing 600hp through them stock without issues and people with stock power blowing them up every other week.

Never had a problem with mine and Iam well over stock power. I only get on her when she's warmed up.

Add a stall Vertor and you might be heading into a storm.

If it helps mine has 400hp/450 torque at the wheels for over 15k miles and I've never had a problem

The 4r75e is a 4 speed that's rated at 750ftlbs of torque at the input shaft.

Hence the '4'r'750lbs Electronic

I imagine the majority of failures are a result of:

1) lack of fluid / lube.

2) Shock loading.

3) Wear due to incorrect temperature (Not allowing it to warm up)

One of the reasons the tranny cooler is built into the rad? The purpose is to warm and cool the fluid.

Thanks for the input. I'm gonna turbo my truck within the year. I was curious to see how much it it could handle before having get a full built tranny. Im gonna go with a Borg warner s400sx4 75 mm, cams, intake, heads, new fuel pump, injectors, the whole lot. Until the tranny I will just have to dial it back.

Sounds like an interesting build.

If you add a stall converter, combined with the weight of the truck then you are likely to break something.

The ideal break is a 'Snap'. If not then you contaminate the whole system.

Darrin Burch @ BC trannys is apparently building 4R75E's again.
