Default 4" lift vs 6" lift

I'm lifting my 2012 FX4 with either a 4 or 6 inch lift kit. They are the same price.

What do you guys think on this decision?

I don't want overkill but 6" is sounding good.I just don't want a monster truck.

Thanks!

I put a 4" kit on mine because I wanted to keep it a little more manageable. I'm currently running 33's and may go to 34" or 35" tires on my next set. With a 6" you can clear 37's but I'd never want that for a daily driver.

If you decide 4 or 6 inch today, you can always change it easily to the other if you want something different. Both kits are the same, they just have different size spacers on the shocks.

4'' for 34-35 inch tires. 6'' for 36''+ otherwise it might look a little weird.

I ordered 4'' since I run 34'' tires and want better clearance for the occasional parking garage and car wash.

So what do you guys think of fabtech suspension lift? Is it worth buying? The price is better but will it be poor quality? I don't plan to actually off road much, but may occasionally.

Then spend $999 on the rough country 4'' lift. Use the extra money saved for the Hellwig rear sway bar or another toy.

I'd ask your installer which kit they're familiar with. Every kit is a little different, and each kit involves cutting in different locations. Some require even cutting part of the front diff. I went with rough country and have no complaints.
