Default 4 inch lift or 6 inch lift - Pro's and Con's

My white 2011 FX4 SCrew 5.0 is getting delivered in July and I would like some opinions about a lift.

I am interested in a lift, but I am unsure about the height. I'm not so interested in which brand, that will come later, but I am concerned about getting the right lift for me and the right size tires to go with it.

For example: Some say that a 6 inch lift looks better with 37 inch tires, but could you go down to a 35 inch tire? The cons would be worse gas mileage with the 6 inch, but, subjectively, it looks better.

I think you all get the picture! Please share your opinions!!!

Thanks in advance!

They are 17's, and I did see a drop in fuel economy, but I havent got gears yet so it should improve some. Right now I am getting about 13-14 city and 15-16 on the county roads, I have no reason to drive on the highway so cant tell you the fuel economy on the highway.

If i had the money, i would get a 4 inch rancho lift with 35's. IMO its the perfect amount of lift. It all comes down to personal preference.

The cool thing is, FX4 trim is NOT A STREET TRUCK.

It's built to be an off road truck.
