4.6l v8 3v
well theres no turning back now.. im picking up my 09 f150 stx 4x4 supercab black tomorrow... its got the 4.6l v8 3v 6 speed transmission in it.. i used to have an 5.4l in my 04 and i know the 4.6 wont really compare but will i be happy? i plan on lifting the truck 6-8 inches and putting 35s and or 37s ( i will regear ) but does this 4.6 have enough power?? i dont tow anything but if i did it would be a trailer with a fourwheeler on it and thats all.. and will i have good acceleration and all?? im all about having a fast truck and hopefully this truck wont dissapoint

I don't think you'll be disappointed, although everybody has a different idea of what's 'fast'....
I went from an '00 F250 with the 5.4 and 4.11 to my '09 XLT with the 4.6 and the 3.55 LS, and I think it gets up and runs better than the old truck. The new 6spd tranny makes a huge difference in grunt out of the hole. I'd prolly rethink your decision to put 37s on it if you want to maximize your performance.

I think you'll be fine with the 4.6 as long as your tires don't end up gearing it too tall. Mine pulls very well with the 3:55's and when I tow our 3200 lb/trailer, it's a breeze for the engine. Never strains to do it.
