I am still waiting to hear from the Dealer. They have also contacted Ford,and tried the Hotline as well. I am very interested in trying to find out what the noise is. Cam phaser noise usually goes away @ 1200 rpm, but this noise starts just off idle when hot. When I was at the Dealer 5 mechanics looked at it,but did not know what the noise is. One mechanic thought it sounded like the noise that would appear from the intake manifold on the old 3.8 Windstars.

Ford recommended the same with mine, Oil Pressure was checked,OK
unhooked cam phasers and re-checked,Still noise, this is what is written right on the work order

Sounds like the noise I have on my 2010 4.6 3v. 5000 miles on it. light tick/rattle noise when hot whenever the accelerator is pressed. Doesn't seem to do it in neutral though...
any updates from you 2009 guys?

mines made the same deep knock since about 5k on it
with same reaction from the dealer/ford reps
they so far have no concern other then there sales
i look at it that ya know what its under warrenty
if it blows up then so be it ford can replace it
so i just drive it as i would and if she blows let them tow it fix it
and pay for it

No noise for me. I know on my car the noise is the cams and thats normal. I wouldnt sweat it as its probably noisy cams or the injectors.

Same thing here, noise is worse now at 16k miles. Will be at dealer on Wednesday to meet with Field Rep regarding my tranny so I was planning on letting them look at it with the rep...
