Default 4.2 lcd display on the dash

On mine when you select gauge
it only shows a line reading trans temp of 193 or whatever the temp is..but there are no more inputs or information.
is it just me doing something wrong

other than the display being a serious distraction while driving...
there is a ton of other info

I find it distracting sometimes. I know ford wants you to leave it on the fuel economy bar that goes up and down, but mostly i like the one to next to trans temp., a black screen. It is useful to use the screen when i decide i need to check on something, but sometimes i need to just drive.

They think they can train us all like circus animals to drive more efficiently with a little green bar tied to the throttle input. Nice try ford!!!

you mean we don't get a banana for keeping it in the green?

i thought WOW i can see real time temps like in the motorhome,
but now i feel let down
there is so much human interface adjusting going on, I may never get it all figured out
while stuck in road construction i selected the graph that shows the incline meter
turned the wheel to watch it go 1 2 3 degrees
yes it was a long sit waiting for the lane to open

I usually find myself having it set on the trans temp screen when I'm normally beating around town, but when I hit the highway I kick it onto the economy graph.

A few days after I bought my truck I had to go back to the dealer for some paperwork stuff. While I was there I convinced the salesman that sold me my truck to let me test drive a Raptor since I bought a truck from him. After the test drive I asked him what that blank screen was for (I figured if any trim package used that screen for something it would be the Raptor). He didnt even know that screen existed. I wish that it showed manifold pressure for us ecoboost guys but I will keep dreaming.

The blank page is nice if you don't want to be distracted by the screen.

Now having said that, I flip between Fuel Economy and Truck Apps most of the time. I feel Ford should have taken the Gauge pages a step further and added a digital speedometer, but still kept the blank page.

I keep it on trans temp when towing, otherwise it is either on the fuel economy screen or the off road apps screen, have not found a road that was more than 10 degree pitch so far (well, coming down the Mt Washington Auto road, there was a turn near the top that registered 10 degrees on the way up and 13 degrees on the way down...inside of the curve vs outside seemed to be the reason for the difference).

In my audi the information from the nav screen like radio station and nav direction showed up on the center screen. It also had roller wheels on the steering wheel instead of arrow buttons so i could roll thru stations and phone book using the center screen instead of having to use the nav screen. I wish ford would have done something similar.
