Default $39,900 for a 2011 FX4!?

Local dealer has this FX4 screw. It says 145" wheelbase but its a 6.5' bed. I stopped to look at it because its what I want and there aren't many screw 6.5s around here. I laughed at him when he said what they were asking. He said it was a $53K truck brand new and that's just a starting point. I think a better starting point would be around $33K. I walked away and told him to call me if they got serious on the price.

Does anybody know of any dealers 4 hours or less from Albany NY that have good prices?

What does everybody think this truck should realistically go for? I told him I'll drive out of state to buy but I don't think he believes me. I'm seeing deals on here for 2013s around $40K but the dealers around here won't move more than a couple grand off msrp.

Doesn't matter how many miles. If it had "0" miles that price is still way WAY to high as it already has 3 years of depreciation to deal with.

He asked "What does everybody think this truck should realistically go for?", I figured the miles would matter for that answer.

I figured I'd have to drive quite a distance to get a good deal as dealers around here suck. I've heard nothing but good things about Fairway Ford. I haven't checked Tasca yet. I would think that their low prices on parts should mean low prices on trucks and they're a lot closer to me than Ohio.

I know it's their job but I can't believe he tried to tell me it was a $53K truck new. It doesn't even have nav.

I bought three VWs from a salaried salesman at another dealership under the same owner. I have him looking into it to see what he comes up with.

I didn't see anybody throw out numbers of what a non laughable price would be. Considering new ones are going around $40K anybody think its unreasonable to go under $30K?
