Question 3.5TT 77000 miles

I am looking at a 2013 King Ranch SuperCrew with 6.5" bed and every option available then. It has the 3.5 Ecoboost and 77000 miles. They are asking $27000.
What say the masses ? Too many miles on the older gen 3,5TT ? Priced too high ?

Prices vary by region so can’t help you there. Whatever you do, make sure you get a pre purchase inspection done by someone who knows a thing or two about Fords. Also, cold start it several times to make sure the timing chain doesn’t rattle.

I thought I heard something in the front end before getting up to speed a couple times. Can it be heard going down the highway ? What does the repair cost ya think ?

If it has the dreaded timing chain slap/rattle, it will happen on a cold start ( not every time, usually ) and only last a very few seconds. The repair is very expensive if it were "out of pocket"!
Loaded KR is a nice rig. What condition is it in? Is it coming from a dealer or private party? If dealer, can you purchase an ESP to cover repair costs in the future. Price seems fair if it's in good condition.

Sounds like too much money. I paid $25k for a 2012, fully loaded, max tow, FX4, 62,000 miles, bought 2 years ago. If it were me, I'd be looking to get a gen2 EB motor. There's just too many big repairs on the older ones.

Gen 2 is 17 or newer and still very expensive. They also have the 10 speed issues to deal with. OPs best bet is to just look for a V8 powered 11-14 truck.

Timing chain is about $2000-$3000 to repair depending on where you get it done. But like others said it will only happen when you start the truck for the first time after it sits for about 8 hours. The second time, it shouldn't do it.

If you are hearing a noise, it could be the turbos. Could also be the exhaust manifold warping (look for carbon build up on the exhaust manifolds). That is about a $1000 repair for each side.

Besides that, if the truck is in good shape and if there are service records, it is in the ball park for price/miles. However I did buy a 14 f150 limited about 1.5 years ago for $25,000 with 72,000 miles on it from a dealer. I wouldn't have paid much over $22,000-$23,000 for this same truck private party.
My truck now has 95,000 miles on it and it has been great. I did have the exhaust manifold replaced due to warping about 30 days after ownership, but the 3 month/3000 mile warranty from the dealer covered all of that and a rental.

No warranty. It is at a huge Chrysler/Ram/Fiat/Jeep dealer.

Seems like a nice truck. I am not a fan of the interior color, but I don't really like the brown/red color. I would get the price down more to the $25,000 range. A lot of dealerships that are main brands will give you the 3month/3000 mile warranty whenever you buy a used vehicle. Inquire about it. It is usually a "thrown in" item.

I should also say that my exhaust manifold warped (most likely) due to the previous owner putting a breather oil cap (one that has a little filter on top and is not sealed) and oil would get spit out of it on the manifold. Since it warped right where there was a bunch of oil, I am assuming that was my cause. But it is still a recurring issue that you'll find every once in a while on this forum.

Trying to get them down to $24000 if they add new tires and do a complete 100000 mile service and give me 3 months 3000 miles.
