Hi - After lurking for years, this is my first post to this forum! I have a 2014 F-150 XLT and am wondering if I can replace the fender and tailgate badges with the newer style on the 2015+ models. I know there are clips on the back: are they in the same location? If not the same, can I just cut/grind those off and attach with adhesive tape? The newer emblems don't have the black insert behind the letters (which is why I like them) and I'm concerned the holes would show through if they are not in the same place.

It's covered pretty extensively in that thread. Looks like they fit but you will have to cut the mounting tabs off of the new badges and align them yourself (meaning no alignment pins/clips).
