Default 2014 needs new cab mount....scary

My truck is suffering from an annoying creaking noise. My dealership is struggling, all the front end was inspected and they found nothing. I've done some work on the truck in order to find without succes. Now my dealership is pretty sure that the noise is coming from the cab mount since it seems to happen more when we flex the truck frame , like per example climbing on a curb etc etc.

The scary part is that my truck is at the dealership now, and they will jack up the cab tomorrow that seems to be a lot of work, they will ahve to drill the floorpan since the retaining nut arent accessible .....

Pray for my truck guys.....so many thing can go wrong, hopefully I wont get a piece of junk friday....I love this truck , but the creaking noise was becoming unbearable. Have you ever seen an f150 with the cab away from the frame ?

Ford had an issue many years ago with radius arm bushings and an annoying creaking on Explorers and Rangers. They simply replaced the radius arm bushings, not a big deal. Cab mounts shouldn't be a major deal either.

I didn't own one, but I can still remember hearing those creaking noises when they would pull up next to me.
Would've driven me nuts, if it was my vehicle.

Yeah well, that was me. My Ranger was noisy as hell. Some new bushings and replaced the rivets (if memory serves me they had giant rivets holding the radius arm to the frame) with Gr8 hardware and the noise was gone. I was the Service Manager at that Ford store at the time.

I've done full frame swaps at work for collision repair and it's a not as much work pullinh the can off as you think. If the right person is doing the work you shouldn't even notice it was ever touched

You are very right Sir, I was worrying for nothing, the truck came back yesterday with 2 new mounts and all bolts on the other mounts hve been replaced. The young mech. put everything back in place and everything works as good as before. The noise is gone, and the customer is happy !!

We complain a lot about our dealership but I think I have a good one, they really wanted to repair my truck, they never give up on various solution, they offered me a courtesy car even before I asked for, and they let me walk in the garage at my will to see the progression of the work....so Kudos Brunelle Ford Laval Quebec canada
