There is still a navigation option (i dont think its DVD based anymore). If you have the My Ford Touch system, the navigation option is an additional $795 option on top for most trim levels. Platinum and Limited models come with the navigation as standard equipment.

thanks i waded through the online book and couldn't really get a warm fuzzy answer

i think the sony nav is one of the best for the price point
i need to update mine..but i may trade her this week and didnt want to loose the feature
it looks like the limited is now the ghost of the harley versions
lots of bells and whistles 373 rear gears and different seat color leather, 22" wheels.

in some ways, yes. However, the limited is only available with the Ecoboost, while the HD had the 6.2. If you want the closest thing possible to a HD in a 2013, get a Platinum with the 6.2 and 3.73 gears.

The owner's manual is on the Ford website. For 2013 with My Ford Touch it uses a sd card. My wifes 2011 Explorer used the same thing. You also have the option of making the map 3D.

My wife's 2013 Focus has MFT with NAV. Dave is correct, you need an sd card plugged in for it to work. There is no way to make a back up copy of the sd card that will work, either. So if you lose it, ruin it, or somebody takes it, you're SOL with NAV. In my wife's Focus, if you pull the sd card out, it reverts to sync turn-by-turn voice directions.

By the way, the MFT NAV system has to be turned on at the factory or by the dealer for the sd card to work. The NAV is a $795 option with MFT on the Focus, and I think I saw on the F150 build site that it is the same deal. The sd card is useless to a thief unless they can sell it to someone who already has MFT with NAV activated.

I've seen sd cards on ebay for about $50, might get one as a back-up for the MFT NAV system on the wife's car.

Now, comparing her NAV to the Sony NAV in my 2011 Lariat, well I like mine better. Overall, MFT is nice but I don't see that it offers much more in the way of functionality over my 2011 with NAV. It's a nicer looking layout, for sure. But I think it is less intuitive. Before anyone accuses me of being a Luddite, the MFT with NAV is still a much nicer system than the ones I've seen in some high end German car makes.

If I were buying a 2013, I'd definitely get it. That's just me, your may not need or want NAV. MFT, without NAV still gives you on screen climate controls, radio controls, etc just like the 2011 NAV (actually 2009 through 2012 on F150).

Press on, regardless.

My wife's 2011 Explorers MFT had problems. The screen would go white and then nothing would work. No climate control, back up cammera, radio nothing. She traded it in. Looking on forums for the Explorer people still have issues with the 2013 with MFT. I sure hope the 2013 F150 will have no issues.
