I'm from New Orleans and don't think I have a accent. I have never been able to get the voice control for the NAV to understand me. Only thing she understands is when I tell her to turn the radio on.

Sucks having to pull over to punch in a address. I have found that it allows you to select previous destinations while driving thou, which helps a lot!

So far my navigation has been spot on. I did give up trying to use voice control.
Apparently a Boston accent is too much to compute.
Not the unbelievably bad accent in movies, btw. We're not all born in Southie or a Kennedy.

Nawlens, Boston, and they say we talk funny in North Carolina.

I do find myself trying to enunciate properly when talking to that crazy be-otch. Aggravating.

Just tested my original A4 with the switch in the "unlock" position. It is write protected. Last pic is from the WCities_Images folder. So the SD card cannot be re-purposed, but copy protection is another matter for another forum.

Version.txt gives the date as 8-13-2012. My 2013 was manufactured 9-2012. So, coming up on the database being two years old and it's obviously a big one.

I just bought an A5 off of Ebay for $49.85 shipped. I don't know where it came from, and didn't ask. It is new in the sealed package. There is a few more there if anyone is interested.

Had dealer chasing his tail on this one. Nobody knew anything about A5.

Finally, the parts guy calls back: $141.90. No more free map updates (they didn't know about that, either). No mention of A5 on the owner/SYNC/MFT site (again, didn't know); no update notification via email.

Was this thing released by the CIA?

My nav maps are fine unless US93 magically moves.

Sincerely, copy protection

Was this the one for $39.99 plus $10 to ship? Seller is in Queens, NY. Probably fell off the back of a truck

Born and raised up there, loved back of the truck deals, lol

I had same issue as many others have had. Actually on Vaca now in Atlantic City and used it for drive from Cleveland. Has been spot in since battery disconnect over a year ago including on this long road trip. Also, I disconnected it for a couple hours I think, for what it's worth.

And you have to pay for updates? I thought they were free for 2 or 3 years or something...interesting.

I found one on eBay for $39 shipped. I decided to hold off as I hardly ever use my navi. If interested you might look into it.
