This is what I ended up doing actually... I picked up a couple spade connectors where you crimp the wire in at the end. Dremeled the spade so it was the same width as the original connector and connected it that way. Worked great and stayed secure.

So did you end up just tying into the high level input of your amp or did you use the clean sweep? I have the same setup and still unsure exactly what I was supposed to do thanks

That's exactly what I did, I used the high level input which would normally go to the existing sub, connected that to my new amp and ran it that way. Worked fine even if I generally try to avoid using high level inputs.
