2013 fx4 6.2
Hello,
New to the forum but not ford trucks. Making the switch after 10 years of owning superduty diesels. (2002 F250 SCREW 7.3 / 2006 F350 SCREW 6.0 / 2008 F250 SCAB 6.4) Ordered a 2013 F150 FX4 6.2 will optioned up with 402a, max tow, nav, moon roof, appearance package, spray in bed liner and 3:73 gears. It should be here the 1st week of April. I primarly tow 6000 wakeboard boat on the weekends, so I am hoping that the 6.2 wont have to work too hard. I did quite a bit of research on engine choice and decided that I wanted the power withouth the worry. No more turbos, high pressure direct injection, worrying about fuel quality, expensive oil changes, etc. etc. I am sure that I will miss some aspects of the diesel, but really looking forward to the ride quality and engine simplicity of the 6.2 One question; does anyone have feedback on the wheel well liners? Was thinking about adding them. Attached is a picture of current truck with boat. Will update when new truck arrives!!

Congrats on your new ride bro! The 6.2 should not even break a sweat! And i suggest getting sprayed on wheel liners im sure they last longer and wont corrode your paint like the drop in ones just like a bed liner, you can never go wrong with spray, if your worried about looks they should come in a color that matches yours
Get the wheel well liners from ford. They work great, and finish off the look of the truck.
(Ford should just put them on all trucks but thats a topic for another thread)
Old combo looks great!

I am sort of freakish about keeping my vehicles clean so color is really no issue to me, and it seems like the metallic in the tux black helps with the typical issues that come with black.
I noticed that you are running the 5 star tune. Were you worried about warranty issues? I heard that is really wakes up throttle response. Any feedback woudl be appreciated

Ya I was worried about it but I had one on my 4.6 and it woke it up and the power with the Cai and the 93 perf is amazing I love it. I haven't ever heard of a 6.2 with many problems and just have to hope I'm lucky. I will never go to dealer with tune on. The throttle response and power is better than stock with the 35" grapplers so without the tires I can imagine it would be even more significant!
