Mine never fogs up with the bed cap on. One of a couple reasons I use the cap in winter.

Mine was replaced under warranty... sometimes would turn off, then off 5 seconds later. Other times seemed like no power to switch, indicator light would not go on... they determined there was a short in the element.

According to identifix. If the relays, and the fuse are good, but the indicator light on the button does not come on when pressed, check for power on the White/Orange wire at connector C3368, if there is power there, but the button still does not illuminate, you need to replace the rear window.
