No offense, Kung, but that list sounds like you were trying to find the worst reliable cars in existence.

- '00 Dodge Dakota - gutless, but no issues, traded in on...
- '02 Dodge Ram - after *SEVENTEEN* visits to the shop in 18 months, I traded in on...

- '04 F150 - has 220K on it, and I've had to replace the driver's side mirror. That's it. Parents now own it, and I own...
- '13 F150 - has 107K on it, and I've had to replace the rear glass, that's it.

Ford has been the MOST reliable (aside from a brief stint with a '00 4Runner back in 2011) for me.
I will say my family bought a 94 SL2 brand new. drove it for 19 years and 170K miles...best car we ever had. I still kick myself to this day for letting my mom sell that car. It survived 3 kids learning to drive on it and we only really ever did regular maintenance on it. It did love to eat alternators though..went through 3 or 4 of them.

now my sisters 02 saturn coupe...that was a piece of crap

The majority of every truck and every engine from every manufacturer will give a great lifetime of service, however there will always be a few that have problems, and sometimes it's just bad luck if you end up with one.

No offense taken, and looking back on it, you're right. LOL

At least I eventually corrected the issue!

It is what it is. You only ever hear the hinge that needs oil. All the other hinges you never hear.
The angy people are always the most vocal. Especially when they make claims they are never buying (insert whatever here). To the OP GM and Fiat didn't miss your purchase, Ford wont either.

the owners with the warped cylinders that grenaded their 5.0s were not very happy.

Almost nobody had a grenaded 5.0 for that reason, although many whined about them until they got new short blocks.

If you've owned that many Fords and this one is causing you to leave them behind it seems a little silly. Every company makes a lemon, and every company makes a vehicle that goes a million miles before it has a single problem. Me personally, I've owned 2 Toyota's, a 2000 Camry v6 5spd, and a 2002 or so Echo, both were pieces of crap. I've owned several Fords, 1986 Mercury Capri, 312k miles, 2000 Ranger, 116k miles, Lincoln LS, 100k miles, F150 #1, 100k miles, f350, 67K miles, 2007 Edge, 138k miles, 2008 Taurus x, 135k miles, F150 #2, 135k miles, Fusion, 97k miles. Not one of these vehicles has had a manufacturer related problem, and the Edge, one of only 2 (Fusion) we bought never once went into the shop for any issues other then oil changes. I'm sure some people have owned a lot of Toyotas and never had an issue, but I had major ones on both mine. I get it about not buying a vehicle because of bad luck, but 1 out of 6 seems like good odds. If you do never buy a Ford again, best of luck, but maybe you just got a **** one, made on a friday, etc.

Man. That sucks. But I guess youll have to buy a Dodge, which sucks *** with their **** on dash gear shift ****, or a GM which has terrible engine reliability since they went direct injection and EPS. You cant even idle a GM motor anymore or the camshaft gets wrecked.

You could go toyota or nissian but what do they tow? For a grocery getter you arent working on they are pretty decent.

Does China make anything worthwhile? Thats your final option.

My ecoboost is still running strong I dont have to worry about your problems yet. Still getting over selling my oil burner 2007 GMC.
