Default 2013 climate control

All right, here is a difficult one. 2013 f150 xlt standard climate control. The issue is I either have hot or cool air blowing. It doesn't turn to cool till the **** is completely turned to the left. One click off and it's hot. To top it off, it will only blow out the vents bo matter what setting it's on. So in my trouble shooting, I heard the actuators calibrate themselves. My second thought was bad controller so I replaced it with a used one. Still has same issues. Any ideas for what to do next.

Take it to someone with the equipment and know how to diag it before you keep shooting the parts cannon at it. Otherwise you'll go broke and never fix it. While you may think it's just a standard system, it's still all completely electronically controlled with it's very own module that communicates with all the other modules in your truck.

Not user friendly where diag is concerned, takes training and the right equipment.

Which is the reason I wish I had never bought this truck, and I will never buy another.

I could repair everything on my 1995 XL.

I'm confused. Did Skooter replace an actuator, yet? There is a very high probability the problem is the temp door actuator, which is $20-something and possible to DIY. They do calibrate themselves, but if it is broken, calibration won't solve it.

I didn't change the actuator. I could hear them calibrating themselves. I even took the top one off and watched it move.

Try cleaning the ambient temp sensor. It’s down and to the right of the steering wheel in the dash behind a little grill. The one on my Fusion likes to draw in dust and can make the hvac act up from time to time. The basic climate control in the XL-XLT f150 is almost the same system as a Fusion SE, just the dials look different.

If it's not moving properly, its broken. I had the same exact symptoms as you. Would only blow cold at LOW setting, would blow high heat all other settings. It's kind of a bitch to get to the rear screw, I found this helpful.
