I've got mine yesterday evening after TSB 12-10-19. Although I already had the plastic shrouds on mine, they have replaced them anyway. The new CAC (BL3Z-6K775-B) appears to be much wider and with a flat portion extending further out to the right side. I don't have the photo of the previous one to compare but here is the new one. I am sure someone can take a similar photo before being replaced to compare.

RuhiA and Boosted, for your sake I hope that what they did permanently fixes any engine issues with the water buildup but this is just totally just doesnt make any sense to the replacement parts. If looking at the post above listing the part# for the various years, did either of u ask the mech what makes this CAC and parts any better than what they replaced, are they confident your done with these CAC issues?

I personally am not confident at all. They are not willing to share anymore than stating that they have done what the TSB calls for. On the other hand, service writer understands and symphatizes that I am concerned of future issues. I was not allowed to see the old part that was removed, not able to talk to the tech did the work. Although he still insists that mine was the first one with this problem, I knew as a matter fact, there were other trucks waiting for the parts in their lot. But he lied to me about the "test ride" that did not happen, why wouldn't he lie about other facts...

My drive to work this morning impressions; shifts very nice although appears to be slightly harder (it may be just my perception becausee I am paying more attention to it), it doesn't smoke like it was diesel train engine, 14 miles to work, stop-n-go, appears to be 16mpg, I don't think turbo is doing anything at lower range. Remote start is now working, all my settings and BT connections were preserved. Service note states PCM reprogrammed to 121019D.

RuhiA, your probably more sensititve to your truck now because of issues, however, there is only gonna be 1 way to find out if your truck has been corrected is to replicate the conditions upon which your truck faltered and then you might have your answer. At least you got some new parts and things were reset so we will see. Hope it never comes back, i am concerned, I have driven my truck in the rain/humidity but not for 2-4 hrs before punching the throttle. I beleive that the longer periods of operation of the turbos create pooled water in the bottom of the IC which at acceleration pressurized the IC then shoots the water thru the system and we all know fuel/water mix is not good for any engine and then the cyclinders cant burn the water off and spark plugs get fouled and destroys the cats along with various other computer sensors. But i am not a Ford engineer but it would seem that there infomericals showing them freezing the engine and racing it to extreme heat over and over should have produced this shudder/shake but we didnt see (omitted)that part in the infomercial.

RuihA, I hear you, this sucks. I Have a 2011 and have had it happen once since getting the truck in January. I have gone to two dealers and both service departments have claimed the never heard of the problem. What is even more sad is both typed my vin into the computer and told me there was no CAC / Intercooler condensation TSB. I didnt raise a ruckus yet but did mention to check the internet as there is probably several days reading on this issue. I have owned alot of Fords and currently 3 but this out and out lying right to my face has got me thinking my next truck will be made by someone else. I can understand having problems but not the lying part.

Just got my new TSB this week at my local dealership, they had all the parts in stock for anybody who needs it, so there was Zero waiting time...4hr total time to do the new CAC and reprogram the ECM. I would go back and give them the TSB #. It is on the Fords service website for all dealership to look up and download, I saw it myself. My MPG at 55mph is now 26.6mpg on a flat surface. I'm super happy with it.

ok so how bad it is that a potential truck I'm looking at has a 9/13/2012 build date? How many PCM revisions and such?

9/18 and before has an issued TSB. 2012 and 2013 TSBs are essentially the same except the CAC part numbers.

With a CAC part # of DL34-9L440-AC and a door stickerdate of Sept 12 along with a window sticker date
Of 10-30-12, should I be bigtime worried? Only have about 200 miles so far in below zero weather to 40 deg and sunny. No high humidity, long wet trips yet. From what I gather, I feel 50 % sure I'm in for troubles. Long time Ford fan but have suffered with the 6.0L powerstroke debacle. Loosing faith, fast
