Default Are the 2013 CAC's truly fixed?

So what's the conclusion on the different versions? From what I can tell there was the original, then a TSB, and now a newer TSB - which I'm not clear if the new TSB is the same as the 2013 factory parts. I think I've confused myself by reading too much.

Looking at possibly buying a '13. The build date according to the window sticker (yes, i know it's not exact, but it's close) is Oct 2, 2012. Will it have the latest and greatest, or does a TSB still apply?

I think I'm gonna drive a 5.0 again too. Drove both a few weeks ago and liked the EB better for my needs.

I'd like to know also, my WS says 10-8-12, but I have no clue either. The more you read the more cross info gets going and abbreviated lingo swirls and then its more confusing. Where is the tried true Fact sheet from Ford about the change over or new fix for the 2013's?

So there is noone who can provide the part # for the new upgrade to the ecoboost problems. A TSB means nothing w/o the parts #. Other than calling Ford directly is calling the local dealership and speaking to Serv MGR the only other way to get info? This is where a FORD rep would be helpful on this site to chime in and put to rest this issue instead of having 200 pages of nothing.

A lot of the earlier models have been fine too, doesn't answer the question though.

I seriously doubt you are going get a FORD rep to chime in on this.

And since there is really no conclusive evidence this is the fix, I will drive mine as is until there is. Spending time at the dealership when there isn't a truly definitive fix is a waste of time, IMO.

Ford is doubling down on this Ecoboost putting it in many of there vehicles, so it will either be a homerun or a financial catastrophy. The issue for Ford and its loyal cusotmers will come down to reliability. If everyone is spending time bringing there Ecoboosts back to dealer for recalls, upgrades, fixes, breakdowns and whatever, then the future for Ford is looking bad. I expect in the next 2-3 yrs Ford will have its answers as most ecoboost engines will be getting over the 60k mark and outside the powertrain warranty, and if people are forking out money then theres a problem, if they can get 100-150k with little issues (other than normal wear/tear) then they got a winner. Time!

If the EB wa really turning out to be a headache for Ford, doesn't it reason to say that they probably would have halted sales of them until a definite fix was available?

My guess is that there are still a very small percentage of all of the trucks on the road that have this issue. I talked to one of the service writers at my dealer about it, and while they are aware of the TSB, they have had very few brought in with the problem, and I live in hot and humid N Mississippi. My truck has 13,000 miles on it, and hasn't hiccuped once. My father has 40,000 on his 2011, probably half of those miles pulling a 27' Airstream, and apart from needing a cat replaced (he stated that he had no drivability issues, the CEL just came on) he has had no problems.

Why some have the issue and others do not is anyone's guess. Probably a combination of driving habits, plug gap, and maybe some bad coil packs, the CAC design just makes the problem surface by giving condensation a place to build up. I just say stop worrying about something that MIGHT happen, and just enjoy driving the truck!
