Default 2013 5.0 completely dead

Hey guys. as the title states the truck is dead, like it's a dead battery. Now to clearify I spent 5 minutes searching various titles in the search and it kept coming up with 2016 tracking and 04-08 picture thread. non of which I think will be helpful in the slightest. Now back to my issue, I drove it last night no issue it was a quick trip to my parents. I didn't have the radio on, no dash lights are on and I didn't even have the headlights on. Faat fowars to today. I go to leave for night shift and I go to unlock it, key fob won't work, I figured the battery is dead in the key. I go to use the key pad and nothing. I go inside get my spare key and still nothing. I unlock the truck with the key. try the ignition and nothing dead as a door nail. nothing was left on. I had the battery checked in December to make sure it was good for winter and it tested fine. Anyone have any idea?

It is a common issue.....

Seems that there is some draw on the battery.

This happened on my 2012......I even called a tow truck and boosting it didn't work. I started checking both fuse boxes (the one under the hood and the one at the passenger side kick plate). I ended up finding the main loom that plugs into the passenger kick plate fuse box had wiggled loose. My guess is that it never had been snapped in properly at the ford plant.

Once I snapped it in, all was good.......and has been since then.

i have heard of some alternators having an internal short that will also drain the system in just over a few hours. might be something to look at as well

Remove the battery ground from the negative battery and re-tighten, I also make sure your wiring on the starter is good and tight. Had this happen on my old Ranger several years ago with the negative battery cable, seemed tight at first (checking by hand). I had the same symptom, key in ignition, no door chime, no interior lights, motor wouldn't turn over, etc. Check your battery ground just to rule that out.

Sounds like a bad ground at first glance... I have a feeling you'll be doing some further investigating. At least it's electrical related.
