Default 2013 to 2014?

I have a 13 SCrew xlt with 5.0 and 3.55 gears. I've rented a ram with the 5.7 for work a few times and it's making me want more out of my truck. That ram is impressive... Power and fuel economy.

Would it be worth trading my 13 for a 14 5.0 with 3.73 gears or an ecoboost with 3.31 or 3.55 gears?

Good deals on 2014's to be had.

for what you'll lose on your trade, probably not worth the small difference, unless you're stepping up to a fully loaded FX4 / Lariat and get options you dont have now...

The EB "feels" different that the 5.0 (faster at lower rpms), but other than that, there isnt a whole lot of difference.

I wonder what gear ratio that Ram had.....if you want seat-of-the pants fun, get the EB with the 3.73's. There's nothing like booting it off the line at a light and having the tires start to haze themselves halfway through first gear, then bark second......FUN!

Yeah. I don't know what gears the Rams I have rented have. But I am super impressed. Way more throttle response, power and mpg than mine. I wouldn't buy a ram cause I don't know anyone who has had s trouble free ram.

May have to test drive an ecoboost.

You are not going to get better throttle response out of an Eco with out tuning it.

Yes, but if you drive the EB like I described above, don't expect the MPG's listed on the EPA rating.
I once posted a thread here that was titled..."I can get 12 mpg or 22 mpg with the EB....my choice."
Keeping the rpm's below 2,000 at all times, coasting up to red lights without stopping, minimizing brake use, summer gas and temps........or hazing the tires halfway through first gear and barking second.....your choice, 12 or 22.

Put some 4.10 gears in your truck and buy a tuner for it.

I would just tune it as it sits probably a heck of a lot cheaper than going and buying a new truck haha!

It can be tuned just for better throttle tip in if that is all you want. $ Can have that for $450 bucks!

Tune it!

A good custom tune can gain you that feel. These trucks are drive by wire and there is a ton of throttle lag that can be programmed out. Programmer and a few custom tunes is way cheaper than swapping out trucks.

Or I guess I could lease a Ram. Would never buy one.
