I had a Suburban with remote start. Would do the same thing as yours if the battery was low, check engine light was on and even if any light bulb was burnt out, head, tail, parking etc.
After the third time it happened, I took that as notice to trade it.

 

Insert your vehicle's key into the ignition and fully start the engine. Press and release the foot brake pedal 10 times within 10 seconds. If you see/hear two parking light flashes/clicks, you have exited valet mode.

 

My hood wasn't completely closed after maintenance, which fixed my issue. Thanks!
