Question 2011 remote start, lights flash-no start

The module is installed, the settings in the BCM are correct, and the cluster is enabled. everything appears to be as it should be, but the remote start doesn't work. The lights flash but nothing else. Any ideas?

Have you verified you have the hood switch?

Does your truck have the hood pin switch? If so, verify the connector is making good connection and is not corroded. if you don't, then you'll need to get one and install it before the remote start will work.

Mines intermittent like that too, I'd say it works 80% of the time or better, but sometimes the lights flash back. Sometimes the horn honks and lights flash, and no attempt to start.

Idk why it causes it. Hadn't lost sleep over it yet, but curious to see what you find.

First of all, know it might sound obvious, but do you have a CEL? Remote start will not work.

I'd also check hood switch. If it is intermittent, try replacing the battery in the fob. Sometimes mine would work, sometimes the starter would spin for half a second then stop. It was due to a weak battery in the remote, it was acting all messed up and like stopped it right after it was about to start. New battery fixed that problem.

The hood switch is there. The CEL is not on and there are no stored codes. The starter never tries to turn. The keys are new, I do not think it is a battery issue.

This may be my problem. I feel like I've heard the attempt to spin thing before, but it might have been before I replaced the pickup battery.

Yep. I think it's because it wouldn't start on the second push, so I'd push it a third time thinking maybe one of them didn't register, and the the remote thinks I pressed it 3 times? Idk. Might be putting reasoning to something that has none lol. Point is after I changed the battery it fixed it and works from the kitchen inside my house, instead of me sticking my key to the window right near my truck to get it to work .
