Default 2011 rear blinker issue

Hi guys just wondering if anyone can offer some advice. I had to use my hazard lights for 40 minutes tonight so im not sure if thats related But afterwards i was getting a fast turn signal on my right turns, i checked and noticed the rear right hand side was out, no brake light either which i thought was weird for both bulbs to be out. After turning off the truck for 20 minutes it was working again so its not the fuse. It happened again after 20 minutes of driving but they are working again. Any advice?

change the bulb, sounds like thermal expansion.

Interesting. Found it strange for both rear bulbs to go at once. Are they wired in a way that if one blows both stop working? Ive never heard of both bulbs blowing then starting to work again. I guess for 5 bucks its worth a shot. The only thing i did any different today was run my hazards.

ohhh both lights meaning both sides, thought you meant both filaments in the bulb, I'd start with the fuse.

No sorry not both sides, both bulbs. There are two bulbs in each side. Both rear bulbs are going out intermittently but when i restart the truck they work again for a while. Seems unlikely to be the fuse to me.

I've seen fuses suffer from thermal expansion. Your problem sounds like something is heating up and disconnects, since it's both bulbs then I'd start with the 1 thing in common

Good point. I was also thinking of swapping the bulbs to the other side to try narrowing it down a little more. Any idea what fuse number for the rear indicators?

fuse 13 interior fuse box, fuse 14 is left side. swap them and see if the problem swaps.

I swapped the bulbs from one side to the other a few hours ago. So far so good.

Brining this thread back up. Beem getting fast blinker intermittently again on right turns. Tested today and it seemed that while getting fast blinker the brake function of the lights worked but was very dim. Possibly a bad ground? Where would passenger tail lights be grounded?
