Its just surface rust nothing to be concerened about. I too will not purchase a vehicle shipped by rail. That was the first thing I looked for on the window sticker of my truck.

My window sticker says convoy. You can imagine my disappointment today when my dealer called and said "your truck is on the train". Who knows.

BTW, Six-Shooter's truck does not have what I would consider "cosmetic" rust that won't do any harm. That is an excessive amount of rust for a 4 week old truck, hell I wouldn't expect to see that on a truck several years old. If my truck looks like that when it gets here next week I'm going to be upset.

I know that feeling.
I had come issues of "rail dust"
But i figured out afterwards that my truck wasn't on a train.. it was a convoy truck.. waiting to see what they say when i ask about my new bumper that has rust on it that was replaced under warranty due to rust..

Default lariat rust

I was beginning to think I was the only one that the rust bothered. I've made further inspections and my whole drive shaft, rear axle, brakes, body spacers, some bolts. Anything thats not galvanized steel or aluminum is rusted. My son has an 89 chevy truck thats doesn't even come close to as much rust. And yes it came from Michigan.

its normal, not gona hurt anything, that truck is way older than 4 weeks.............., Your crazy if you think that a 4 year old truck will look like day one off the assembly line. Its like you people have never owned a truck or car. If its not flaking off in chunks its surface rust and is normal will not harm anything. EVERY other part on the truck will fail way before rust causes a failure. GET over it.
