Default 2011 King Ranch

One of my best friends just bought a new to him 2011 f-150 king ranch with the ecoboost. I told him that he should probably be using lexol or king ranch conditioner on the seats but these look like they have a coating over them so I am unsure what should be done to them? Also truck has right over 50,000 miles on it and seats are in good shape so far and I will post pics later.

I just don't know wether you should treat them like the older king ranch seats or not?

I got a 13 KR and use what they recommend on the Chapparell leather. KR Conditioner for me. Have him check to see if it is the same leather. No way use the Lexol on these seats, Lexol good for normal leather and its what i use on wifes minivan.

I have a 2011 KR and in the owners manual it states it is recommended to use the KR brand conditioner. Its only $9 so that is what I use.

Curious, what did he pay for that truck?
50k in miles, wow. Mine only has 20k.

Not sure what he paid and yes 50k is quite a bit of miles for a 2011. My truck has 160,000 so not a lot compared to that. Hahaha. He already bought a bottle of the king ranch stuff but hasn't used it yet. I've heard guys on hear saying lexol did a better job than the king ranch conditioner but he didnt seem to like that idea so I said I would ask the forum guys what they thought. Also how do y'all apply the conditioner to the seats?

I wear thin rubber/latex gloves and rub it in until it's clears. I don't use a cloth because then most of it soaks into the rubbing cloth instead of the seats. Some people are concerned with perforated seats but I've never had an issue, yeah some goes into the holes but its marginal.

I'm going to get my friend some cheap to mid-grade seat covers they can be taken off fairly easy just for when we go hunting and stuff like that for his birthday present. The main thing I was concerned about was those autozone/bass pro ones is scratching or some how messing up the leather. Can anyone recommend a decent brand and tell me if there is any risk to them scratching his leather. Also more then I want to spend but anyone have the carrhartt ones? Thanks in advance

I use Bick 4 on my western boots but don't know if you would want to use it on the Chaparral leather. Bick 4 is great but it does tend to darken leather. I've used Lexol on treated leather.
