I've always thought this was a tc problem and that's how I described it to the dealership the first couple times.

Is it possible that the slipping is also causing the waste gates to flutter at the same time? It kinda makes sense but my tach is steady during these shuddering periods.
Didn't work for me either.

Done.
THe search function on that site won't bring it up so here is the direct link.
Please advise of any changes you would like me to make to more accurately reflect the concerns of the ripped-off Ford F-150 community.

All my dealership will tell me is that Ford is working on it. My customer rep at Ford will not return my calls. So, I have been asking around and talked to a guy that works at a truck repair facilty. They have had 5 of them come through their shop so far. Some were brand new right off the lot. Their mechanics have been in contact with Ford and they said that the reason for the shudder is that the engine is running too lean in an effort to keep the MPG's up. The fix is supposed to be a programming issue and is going to be coming out in Mid-March. That is the straighest answer I have heard since last fall when this all started on my truck.

Sounds interesting. But if that's all it is, why all the secrecy?

I suppose Ford doesn't want word to get out that as of right now this truck is a POS. If running lean is the problem, then the mpg will go down when they fix it. So there goes one of their big selling points on this truck.

Good thought. Most of us have noticed a drop in fuel economy since this problem showed up though. I would be happy as hell if they can just keep it running as it did when I bought it.

I have been able to drive every vehicle I've owned at the EPA ratings or at least damn close to it. I can't get this thing within 15-20% of EPA. I was close until this shudder showed up. I was 10% or less over the EPA. I drive about 5000 kms a month, so it adds up!

As I read the petition, it didn't mention any engine in particular that I can recall, so go ahead and sign it.

Fuel starvation issues can be easily read diagnostically by a good dyno man.
