I have had the same problem, next time change the spark plugs yourself, it is easy and you save a lot$$$. I haven't changed the coils. I thought I would try the plugs first, and that fixed the problem. remember that TURBOs are hard on plugs over time due to the excess pressure. the diagnoses machines will often list all possible causes, that doesn't mean they are all the real cause. dealer ships ten to lean to change all for a better chance the problem will be fixed and you will be happier with the out come.

thanks, what do you think of this drilling a 1/16" weep hole in the intercooler or installing an oil catch can to help prevent the condensation seemingly being the underlying problem?

Both completely separate issues as has been said over and over again.

55 MPH SHUDDER/POWER LOSS FIXED!
Year 2011
3.5L Twin Turbo 99T
Wheelbase 144.5 in
4x4 SuperCrew 5-1/2 Ft Box Lariat
Dearborn, MI 48121
Build Date: 3/2011
SuperCrew/5.5' bed:

Purchased 10/2017.
The first time I experienced the problem was two months after purchase. Towing 9,000 lb trailer on a slight grade near Palm Springs, at about 55 mph,

Replaced all six injectors and spark plugs with OEM specified parts and engine control computer flashed. Using only Chevron 91 octane gas. Now with 90K mi. there is no problem with loss of power or shudder.

No problems pulling the same trailer from LA area to Mammoth Mountain, CA and also to Laughlin, NV. Even on long upgrades, the engine has plenty of power, regardless of rpm.

Default Shudder

I had the shudder problem for a while, at 55 and at 70. I recently put some new Bilstein 4600 shocks and the back. That helped tremendously.

2010 FX4 5.4 157WB. Major shudder / vibration between 45 and 70 mph. Changed the complete rear drive shaft assembly. Vibration is GONE. The Napa shaft I installed had s damper on the transfer case end slip yoke, maybe that's the fix.

Not everyone has the same problem or the same solution... but I hope this helps someone.

I know I am outside your data group - 2010 Lariat 4x4 5.4L - but I was dealing with shudder/vibration issues at start off from stop, at lower speeds and backing up and occasionally at higher speeds. Had it checked out and it was determined the problem was in the rear differential - burned clutches among smaller issues. Having it rebuilt now. Don't know if this helps but hope it may point in the right direction.

Late to the thread here but I stumbled upon this while searching for camera fixes. I purchased this truck from a Canadian dealership in September 2019, I also have the shutter mentioned above. I only notice it from 55-62 in 6th gear, above 62 or in 5th gear and I don't notice it. I first noticed it after getting home and having to rebuild the rear differential. I replaced all the bearings in the diff along with the wheel bearings and rear driveshaft joints. Ever since then I have had the issue. I also have a cyl 6 misfire with only 85 psi compression in that cylinder, not sure if that has anything to do with the shutter. Something to note, I have put the truck in neutral and coasted from 65 down to 30 and no shutter, and when slowing down in gear I haven't felt anything, it only seams to happen while maintaining speed or gradually approaching cruising speed.
