I replaced my factory speakers with sone pioneers. My aftermarket driver door speaker started to cut in and out. Took it back to the shop that installed them and guy told me that my connection was full of water. He greased the connection after blow drying it out then taped it really well. So might be a water issue.

 

So this is happening to some of you even with aftermarket speakers? So the what is the problem? The wires being pinched in the door? The wiring itself? Like I said before, I got a new speaker installed but was considering going with aftermarket speakers because now I am very conscious about the speaker sound and it is very flat sounding.

 

Full of water? That's not good. How much water can be getting in that the connection is getting full of water? If it's that wet inside there, then how long before the door begins to rust from the inside out? Hopefully he's referring to condensation......

 

I notice the same issue with the driver-side speaker in my '10 Screw. I was going to replace the speakers anyhow so I waited until I needed to pull the door panel. After mounting the new Polk speakers the issue was still there. I found that if I twisted and pulled on the wires near where it plugs into the speaker the problem goes away. Either there is a broken wire or the terminals were not installed on the wires correctly.

 

My front drivers side speaker had been going out for maybe 2 months. I took it to Ford and said they fixed the problem. Guess what ??? It's back to the same old on and off !!! I guess I will take it back since it sounds like after market speakers don't fix the problem !!! Must be the radio itself ? My truck is a 2011 F150 FXR.

 

Guess I will take it to the dealer before wasting money on new speaker.

 

As I said previously, my driver side speaker was cutting out and after 4 trips to dealer, they replaced the speaker. Two weeks and so far so good. But now the passenger side is cutting out...WTF??? I don't see how this can b the speakers. How can it not be electrical/wiring?

 

You can count me in with speaker problems. I thought my left front door speaker had been cutting out for a while. Well this morning I started the truck and no sound out of the LF door speaker; opened the door and I heard a pop and the speaker started working. So I moved the door some and the speaker would cut in and out. I did grab the harness going to the door (in the rubber bellows) and could not get it to quit or cut out. When I went to shut the door again it cut in and out again. Leads me to believe that there is a bad connection somewhere. It has been raining out for the last 3 days so there might be water in the connection. I am going to take it to the dealer and have them look at it at lunch. For what it matters I have a 2011 F150 XLT Screw with the factory radio (no Sirrius, no 6 disk CD, and no Nav)

 

My 2011 is doing the same thing, LF speaker cutting in and out. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't find the problem with diagnostics(told them was intermittant) They emailed a Ford engineering hotline for dealers and found out that the Ford engineers found a problem with the harness between the door and the body. Previous post shows the harness. My part is on order, hopefully will take care of it.

 

Same issue on my '11. When you get the part number and service write up would ou mind posting it for us? Thx!
