Default 2010 Speaker problem.

The LF door speaker cuts in and out and seems quieter than the others. Do you think the problem is in the speaker or the radio? If it is the speaker I would just upgrade and bypass the warrenty work. I like the factory radio, so if that is the problem then I need to go to the dealer.

What type radio? Do you have it set correctly? Do you have traffic or what ever they call it to compensate for your speed turned on?

It's just the OEM single CD with SYNC radio. Speed compensation is turned off. Yes it is set correctly. It will turn off and on at random times.

Seems to be a common problem. What is a good replacement speaker that works with the OEM radio with no need for an amp?

This problem is on the forum a few times - my LF speaker has same issue & found grabbing & tugging on the wire harness with radio on & door open will make it cut in & out- has to be a connection problem - after I do that the problem goes away for a few weeks - at some point when it's really bad I will post a fix - can live with it 4 now - not worth the aggravation to sit around dealer to tell me they can't find problem-

Interesting. My worry is that if I replace the speakers and it does not solve the problem, the dealer will blame it on the new speakers. Honestly I would rather fixit myself than take it to the dealer.

If u replace speaker there is a chance the problem will get fixed just by moving wires around while working on it ( if it's a bad connection somewhere in door area)

My 2011 has same issue. First trip to dealer they said can't find problem. 2nd time they said they spoke with Ford and don't know of any widespread issues. So they flipped wires so left fade was now right fade, etc. Said if same speaker cut out then they know its a speaker problem. It still cut out so they replaced that speaker. Seems to b working now , but reading the above posts, I may just replace the fronts with aftermarket speakers. How hard is it to get at them?
