Default 2010 problems?

Hi, I'm a noobie with a couple questions, I'm purchasing a 2010 F-150 screw 4x4 and have seen that there have been some transmission issues. Should I be worried?? Some of the problems sound a little scarry! Like the transmission shifting into 1st gear at hiway speeds (65-70mph) and locking up the rear wheels!! Thanks for any info!

Out of thousands of F150's Ford has built you only hear the horror story's on these types of forums. If everybody that has an F150 got on here all the time and said I have not problems then the board software could not handle it. Buy it enjoy it drive it like you stole it.

Zero problems here. I have the 5.4 witht he new 6 speed tranny. Runs GREAT! I love this thing. Yeah, the 2011+ have the bad *** 5.0 and the Ecoboost. However, I still love my 5.4. The 6 speeds are perfect. The low 1st gear make it fast and you cant beat two overdrives. GET IT!

No issues here with my 2010 XLT Screw after 13,000 miles. I've been really enjoying this truck. I recently returned from a 2800 mile round trip and loved every mile of it. If there were any regrets it would only have been that I didn't wait one more year and get an Ecoboost.

2010 xlt 4x4. New tranny at 19000 miles, iv had the sattelite antenna leak, fixed, rear break light now leaking, stained head liner, rotors cut once at 9000 miles due to warping, but I still love her just the same

Couldnt have said it better, you always hear the SMALL percentage of overly **** owners. In MOST cases they are hypochondriacs and as soon as they hear about a problem it happens to them. Not saying all, but most. Dont get your panties in a bunch people if you fall into this lol. With that being said you can find a TON of useful information on here from f150 owners that have done a lot to their trucks etc. Take the good with the bad.

Not one single problem with my trans, im at 28k now and it has hands down been the best truck I have owned

X2

Sales numbers of all F150 types in 2010: 626,262

Dont think that if there was a serious issues that we would see numbers like that without many MANY more complaints.

For comparison:

Chevy Silverado AND GMC Sierra COMBINED: 499,929
Dodge Ram: 253,038

Does that mean I wasnt impressed with the smoothness of the tranny in a rental Ram that I had? No. Would I switch? FU@K NO!
