Default 2010 F150 Starting problems

Hi Folks!! I'm new here....and boy do I have some questions...

Bought the new 2010 F150 Supercrew. Took it to get the kids...came out to start it and go home....wouldnt start...just cranked over like no tomorrow. Finally it started.

Next day...started right up - drove it - shut off and restarted several time. Unloaded my atv at the ATV Shop...and went to start it. Wouldnt start. Fussed and tried EVERYTHING we could think of - finaly after 45 or so minutes - it started.

Took it to the dealership..cant find codes. They reprogrammed the 1 key I had with, and cut a new one and reprogrammed it. Went home - drove a LOT over the weekend. All went fine. Came home, drove around monday, got fuel...locked it when I went in. Unloacked it when I came out - and it wouldnt start. FINALLY got it started again...drove it home.

Next day started right up...took it into the dealership again....and shut it off. They went to restart it - wouldnt start. They fussed and fussed with it. Finally it started.

Here's what we know. There is no specific "thing" making this occur. All keys have been reprogrammed. Fob's have not. Security lights flash normally and not rapidly. The truck cranks and if you let off the key - it continues to crank...until it decides to stop. When it starts, it is really rough to start. Has less than 500 Miles on the truck. It has been into the dealership 3 times and has been there now since Monday. The module that is supposed to track the codes...is erasing them. There is evidence of "something" happening in other components, but none that let on the problem. The techs have several emails and trouble calls into Ford's hotlines and emails, however the engineers havent responded and the ones that do respond consider it an anomoly. They are working very dilligently to find this problem and to make my truck work correctly.

So, where am I at with this truck? They are grasping. I also requested this to be fords truck and I want a replacement. They can't consider it a buyback yet, nor a lemon yet. What other things are you folks hearing that I could do or even that the dealership could do to solve this issue.

I am located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin area. The dealership is Eau Claire Ford. Thanks Folks!!

Yeah, i would definitely get a new one, sounds like some sort of electronics/computer issue to me...and sometimes they are impossible to solve, especially if its not the computers themselves and just new wiring.

Good luck, and just keep demanding a new one, i know i wouldn't be able to trust it if that happened to me...

Default Lemon law

In Texas we have a lemon law. If they can't repair it after 3 tries, you get your money back and they get the lemon.

I did some checking tonight on the Lemon Law. Here is the linky to the WI DOT Web page.
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/safety/...s/lemonlaw.htm

I havent received any service orders, however I will ask for them tomorrow. The other thing I am concerned about would be the carfax on this. It could brand it for life...a rocky start too....

They are cruszin for info too...I really hope they can find it....but I dont know if I will have confidence in it if they do.

I had this problem with my 2010 one time in my driveway on a cold start when it had about 200 miles on it and haven't had an issue since. My 05 would frequently have starting issues if for example I stopped to get gas I would go to start back up and it would take a few tries. I never thought too much into it since a few friends of mine with 05's had the same issue. I just chalk it up to technology bugs.

WOW that was helpful. I disagree....vehicles should START each time you hit the key unless there is an issue. Brand new - out the door less that 30 miles on it...it should start..shouldnt matter what the temp is.

Seriously, folks, please comment if you can throw ideas at this problem. After surfing the web for the last 4 days straight...I have yet to find a solution that was garnered by anyone in this NEW truck with less that 500 miles on it.

Thanks!

I had an 04 prior to this - about all of the same features and options (all you could get at the time)...and never had an issue. Loved the truck. only problem I has was a major transmission failure at 92300 Miles..otherwise I would still have it. I put on about 30K a year due to my favorite past time (atving).

Could it be possible that the bluetooth technology in the SYNC system - since it runs thru the cluster - could be interfering? I'm looking at this from a "signal" perspective. The bluetooth phone - exiting a synced environment with the truck - then coming back into it and then not starting.....???

I cant assume or read into "meanings" - I'm not sure that anyone can. It IS a new truck - the one I have with the problem. Typing or reading does not convey tone or expression.
