Default 2010 door keyless entry keypad light out

I have a 2010 FX2 with the keypad on the outside of the door. The 9/0 (last button) light has went out. Anyone have to change one of these bulbs? How hard was it to get to? I can probably live with it if it is too difficult. Only notice that it was out since daylight savings kicked in and I now get to work in the dark.

I'm pretty sure you would have to replace the whole keypad

Same thing happened to me. First the lights went out on two of the buttons, then the keypad stopped working altogether. Not a cheap part, i recall a $200+ price for just the keypad plus labor.

Yea they keypad alone is 75.

I also have a question yall might be able to help me with. I'm new to the keypad entry and I have gotten used to just leaving they key in the ignition. However this has caused me to sometimes forget to turn off my lights because I don't get the warning like when you remove the key.

What I'm wondering is if I leave the key in the ignition and the battery would happen to die would I be able to unlock my truck?

that's what I was afraid of. I only have one key so I guess I'll have to start taking my key with me again, which defeats the purpose of having the keypad.

You would think that they would have developed a way to give the keypad power when the battery is dead before a damn automatic opening tailgate and heated steering wheel.

Yeah that's also an option, I know I always made a 2nd "dummy" key that I kept in my wallet, on previous brand cars.
