Default +$200 for Line-x xtra

This has been beat to death I know. I searched Line-x and found 26 threads and didn't want to read them all lol. I can have my bed (5.5 box) sprayed for $450 line-x or $650 line-x Xtra. Is the Xta worth $200 more??

Basically Xtra is "more durable" which I find funny because how can you say you have the toughest stuff on the market, then claim to sell something tougher than that as well?

Also, Xtra lets you color-match your bed... so you can get the liner to be the same color as your bed currently is.

I got xtra when I had mine sprayed. It was $550 not color matched. I think it was a $150 upgrade for me. I didn't want it losing its color so I just sucked it up. Who knows if it's any more fade resistant in the real world, though...

I thought the Xtra was UV protectant? I have seen faded LINEX I would get the XTRA unless you have a bed cover

When I had mine done the Line-x guy recomended that i not spend the money on the xtra. He said if I changed my mind I could always come back and get it later since it is an overcoating. So far I have not regretted my decision to skip it at all

without it the line-x will fade and look like crap in a few years. the black will look gray. It doesn't degrade or become weaker, just less attractive. Doing it afterwards would be a waste of more money, they are going to charge you more for sure because of all the work of prepping and masking off the truck.

Ya for sure I have seen lots of older bed liners that look greyish and not very attractive. Not sure what brand they were. Mine is garaged and doesn't set out much (retired) so not sure if the $200 is worth it. All depends on how long I keep the truck I guess. I know they all look awesome when they are new. Thanks

Are you looking for the look of the bedliner or the functionality? I guess that would be the question you have to answer for yourself. If it's looks go for the extra UV if not go for the standard.

Default I would get the XTRA

XTRA has Dupont Kevlor pulp mixed with it so it adds yet another layer of durability AND, the big thing for me, XTRA adds fade resistance that almost matches the "paint" fade resistance. I had XTRA on my last truck (black bedliner) and it looked as good two years later as it had when they sprayed it.

Bottom line: If you get a color bedliner, then get XTRA no question. For a black bedliner, it's optional but I would do it. As to your original question, "Is it worth $200?", I would say yes.
