Couple weeks ago did 400+ mile trip to upstate NY and averaged about 21 mpg cruising @ 75 mph. Was happy with that……. Around town I'm around 16 mpg which isn't all that great but compared to my 5.4 it's wonderful. lol….

If I stomp the go pedal the MPG goes down FAST!

So far at 22k I haven't had gasoline pouring into the oil, no sputtering or shudder in any type weather. Got a new set of plugs which I need to install but everything has been fine.

If you read this forum you'd think the Eco was the WORST engine ever produced by Ford. I'm happy with the Eco's over all performance and MPG. I do not miss the V8 sound because it's whisper quiet on the highway. It was a great 400 mile ride and it's a very enjoyable and relaxing truck to drive. I took the extended Ford warranty so I'm NOT worried about the long term life of this engine.

Time will tell how it holds up but I had plenty of MAJOR issues with my 5.4……… just saying………

Yep drive easy with cruise and I am 20-25 mpg depending on wind and terrain. Heck I've seen 27/28 at 50-55 but most roads here don't let you do that speed steady.

Being extremely hard on the gas I avg 17 mixed which includes leaving stop lights sideways and chirping 2nd. Excellent mpg for this level of power. Only other engine that can match is the 3.7.

Here are a couple shots of my mileage.
I'm generally running with cruise on at around 71 mph or 115 km/hr. I converted the app for you 'Mericans ;-)

The lower ones previous I was towing a small utility trailer with our big pressure washer on board. Also, I have a contractor cap and a good amount of tools in the truck at all times.
Truck has 86000 kms to date.

We are staying in an RV park 30 mile south of Crater Lake Oregon. Our truck is a 2012 SCAB EcoBoost. Where we are is a little over 3,000 feet in altitude and Crater Lake is about 6,300 feet high. Just for grins, I reset the mpg on the way there........16.8.
On the way home, over 35 miles, reset when we left the visitor's lodge at Crater Lake...........33.5 mpg! Mpg sure makes a difference when you are dropping over 3,000 feet in 35 miles........Still it's kind of crazy that our trucks can get this kind of mpg.

What did you think of the trip down hill loaded? I just got back from my first trip to the mountains with mine. It really does suck engine braking. Even unloaded down 4-6 mile 8% grades with it in 3rd gear I'd have to brake every 30s or so to stay under 60 mph.

I never tried dropping to 2nd. It was about 4000 rpm in 3rd at 60.

I haven't tried much loaded in hill country yet. But I'm guessing i wouldnt let it get up to 35 and keep it in 2nd.

On this trip of 400 miles I averaged 21.1 starting at 400 ft and going to 3600ft then going back down home. Mostly 70 mph since limits were 65.

Yeah the EB is not very good at engine braking because it is such a small engine. I did not mean to imply I was towing the TT when I got these figures. These were done unloaded.

My 1010 with the 5.4 would get 18-19 on freeway road trips. My 2013 EB gets about the same. More power, same mileage as the stone age 5.4L.
