The F-250's with their 6.7lt diesels are incredible rigs. They can be made super fast and super quick with power tuners. 900+HP is within very easy reach. Be careful when rolling up on a diesel and thinking you going to spank them in a race.

What a joke. That truck practically has a new engine. That like saying the Banks built, cummins powered sidewinder Dakota is stock lol. I'll bet anything they had a 2.31 rear gear in the ford.

I still think it is pretty cool and am impressed with DEPENDABLE diesel technology. Give me all in 200,000 miles and let me know how that six banger twin turbo is working for ya...

It just kills me....I hate to throw all EB owners into the same category but I am starting to believe it. It seems you never have anything nice to say about any other rig unless its an EB. And in the following 45 posts after I get flamed to the depths of hell, we will have 20+ EB posts that say their rigs can go 190+

Maybe I rolled out of the wrong side of the bed and am pissed that I have a crappy F-150 gas burning normally aspirated v-8.

Slow down killer geez. My last truck was an 05 dodge diesel. I wanted a 1/2 ton diesel but it didn't look like it was gonna happen so I got the EB. I think everything should be diesel. And to the other poster saying so what...don't claim to have a lightly modified truck and then say the engine, tuning, and most definitely gearing are completely different. The category should be stock+ 25k in mods.

Did you read a different article then the link provided? The article clearly states:
"Ford says that its engineers and Oklahoma-based Hajek Motorsports only installed a high pressure fuel pump, new fuel injectors, new turbos, and modified the compression ratio. Aside from the performance modifications, the F-250 was also fitted with a roll cage, five-point harness, a drag chute, aerodynamic fairings for the front bumper, and the obligatory salt flat moon-dish wheels. The F-250’s drivetrain and transmission were stock."

Looks like you just lost that bet.
I for one am really impressed that the stock tranny and driveline stood up to multiple runs (broke 3 separate records). That really says something for "Ford Tough"

Just entering the numbers in the calculator for tire size (31 in) rear gear(3.31) and 6th gear ratio (.67) show that it needs to spin at 4500 rpm to do 180s mph. So either way, they changed tuning to spin to 4500 or they changed rear gear to something taller so that it didn't have to spin so high.

Hey...My bad...I guess did I wake up on the wrong side of the bed today with a bad case of the *****. My apologies. I did not intend to make it personal. I'm man enough to own my editorial mistakes.
